Title Research : Action Movie The Terminator

The Terminator is an 1984 Action Film. I used the website Art of the titleto do this research. In the terminator there are 21 intro titles ( 22 with the logo of the movie). The intro was about 3 minutes long in length. The images that are displayed in the intro is a close up very of the terminator logo. I don't know why it was a close up view of the logo because it was unusual to me. The genres reinforce in the opening acts with the title because the titles have a typing type animation and after a person's name is shown for a  few seconds it disappears. It types the person's name in white then other disappears its in green as in its done coding like terminating. The first 2 titles were long paragraphs that you'll have to read while there were lazors all shooting in the background. The enigma that the film create is why is there a large text in the beginning scenes of the movie while there is action going on in the background. Assured me that the film tries to use is using a background checks while action is going on so you can get her focus on the storyline of the movie or the action going on in the movie. It's smart because people that read the text will understand what's going on but other people will not.  Technology was has been used effectively because it's was ahead of its time. The editing process sure took a long time because of all the lasers and robotic parts that the production crew would have to make.  Camera angles used in the intro are close shot , medium shot and 2 shot. Transition go smoothly as they go from one scene to another in different perspectives. An example of this is the laser shooting down at a subject, running with the camera to another position where they are in place while still shooting down at the subject.

Title Research : Action Movie Mission Impossible II

Misson Impossible Two is an 2000 Action Film. I used the website Art of the Title to do this research. Mission Impossible II has 17 titles. The images that I've heard size is a steam in the movie where Tom Cruise is climbing a hill. It's has steep edges and sometimes he almost falls off the cliff and make death-defying jumps. It show you the suspense Tom Cruise can get in the suspense if what happens if he ever goes up to the top of the  mountains.  It reinforces technical codes because there was a lot of editing in different camera shots especially long camera shots throughout this whole process.  It have a bunch of suspense that builds up enigma. Some dude in helicopter fight a rocket launcher at Tom Cruise which was the point of the camera moving all the time and seeing if he would reach the top. The film uses its suspense throughout the whole opening scene to see what or not if you can make it to the top or fall. Also uses a few death-defying stunts to help the audience be engage into the film.  the technology that they use is really hard.  They have to hold the cameras by Mountainside to make sure that they get the shots right.  Also they have to make sure Tom Cruise doesn't fall to his death with using elastic to help him up. It's a lot of land transitions because there really isn't none.  they go back and forth into Tom Cruise's jumping from Cliff to Cliff going down and up. Camera shop that the only uses one shot because I was the only shot introduced when I watched it.

Title Research : Action Movie, Smokin' Aces

Smokin' Aces is a 2006 Action Film. I used the Watch the Titles website for this research. Smokin' Aces has 24 titles ( inducluding the movie title). The images that are prioritised are the people that are in the film. An example of dis is Ryan Reynolds who appears in the film looking like himself.  The connotation of these images feel like  an old Miami movie with all the different colors hopping in and out  throughout the whole movie. The symbolic and technolic is reinforced by showing you different pictures of different actors using various colors from the color wheel. Ryan  Reynolds color was different from the other actors and producers shown in the film.  The editing  has the same transitions except for one where it close like blinds. The enigma that is challenging to understand is why did they use a different color for every actor and producer but not show any action as like Miniclip. And the transitions go by so fast that people won't really read the screen but would want the movie to start. The strategy that is used to make the phone pop out is the different colors  used in the intro. The film was produced in London but have a Miami Vice type of vibe to it. It's similar to the Loading screens of Grand Theft Auto ( Video game series) for various characters pop up in different colors and is bolded in the screen Zooms in and out. Technology for this project has been used lightly because a  simplicity of the work. Most of the transitional the same they will use a camera angles of 2 shot, medium, close and long shots.  This will have to be a low budget film with some high paying actors.

Title Research : Action Movie Black Panther

Black Panther is a 2018 Action Film. I used the Art of the Title website to research this. Black Panther has 29 titles. The images that are prioritize order the images that you will see throughout the movie.  The images are also animated. These images carry something important in the film because they will be used by the  actors in the film.  The Chair of Wakanda was used in the animation it's it was important in the film because there was the King of Wakanda if you where to sit on it. The technically code is used weld on film because it shows different colors as well as editing to different transitions as well.  The film really doesn't carry enigma to the action prospective. The 3D animation that you see  ar important because those are the things used throughout the film. The film is a bunch of different charges such as color and designing. Designing is important in the film because they have to make sure all of the models are right  and for every model there's a different color for it. The Texas also important because it has the actor / producers name and is in a special text.  Technology has been used effectively because  they used it to its potential.  the 3D animation, the colors and text font. Its a very well intro put together. I would try and do this on my film but that's wayy too much work in so little time.

Title Research: Watch the Titles Website

Today is January, 31th, 2020. As part of my research on title, I had to research two websites all about titles. "Watch The Titles" was the 2nd website i came across. Compared to the first website ( Art of the Title ), this has a different interface. I had to research this website because I had to get another Action movie for my research. Once I linked the link it started to play different movies and tv shows intros. It was good to see a few once it happen but it kills the battery. Researching the movies on here is better because they have a list of links you can click. It has everything from video games to tv shows and even movies. It's simpler to that because everything is right there for you which is better than "Art of the Title."  The films are located under "Feature Film." There's no category to sort by genre ( to make the search easier). Research on this website was too easy for me. I found just one film I wanted to use. The other website had the other 3 I wanted to do. I wish I got to use that website more.

Title Research : Art of Title Website

Today is January 31th, 2020. We are starting to learning about movie intro titles that happen in the first few minutes into a movie. We started research about it and I came across a website called Art of the Title.  I researched the website because it was actually appealing to me. The Titles that the websites provide goes onto a list. The website has titles from everything like movies ( what i'm researching ), to TV shows to even video games! The website also has like their top 10 title sequences which is pretty cool to see. Designers and Studios is also cool to see because you can see different software that were used to make the titles. I was surprised when i didn't see Adobe After Effects because you can easily make titles on that too. On that studio's list i did not see a software that i know so it had to be State of the Art type software. I click on the links when I have a chance to when i make my movie intro. In the top 10 title sequences of 2019 they had Black Panther ( a movie i'm researching about ). The title animations for the top 10 is all really cool. I'll probably go for broke when I'm doing my movie intro. This website should be my go-to website when I'm researching titles.

Genre Reseach, 22 Jump Street

The movie is a 2014 film called 22 Jump Street. It's a Action film. Camera agnles are 2 shots, closeup, medium shot, meduim long shot, medium close shot, close shot, point of view shot, over the shoulder shot, high angle and low angle. Camera movements are a lone tracking shot. Costume as nothing, just regular ole clothes. Lighting is mildly warm ( alot of oranges ). Actors are Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Ice Cube and Jillian Bell. Props in 22 Jump Street is guns and alcohol. Setting is in MC State University and a beach. Editing in 22 Jump Street including Graphic/Action match, cutaways, burn ins/out and reverse shot. Sounds in the flim is the score, dialogue and non-diegetic sounds. Elements in the film are dirty jokes and actions and physical fights. I like the film because it's one of my favorite films that I've watch. I don't like the film because really i see some corny lines from time to time.

Genre Research, Hitman Agent 47

The Movie is a 2015 film called Hitman Agent 47. It's an Action movie. Camera angles and shots include eye level, close up, 2 shot, over the shoulder, medium shot, muedim close shot, low angle, high angle, long shot and dutch shot. Camera movemnets are pan, tilt and tracking shot. Costumes in Hitman Agent 47 is Agent 47's suit and the bald head. Lighting is limited but shows it's shines at the right time. Actors are Rupert Friend, Hannah Warre, Zachary Quinto and CiarĂ¡n Hinds. Props in the film is the dual wielded pistol Agent 47 is always known for having. Setting is in Berlin ( also where the movie was shot as well ).  Editing in Hitman Agnet 47 is just ALOT of cutaways and Action matches. Sounds that go into the film is Dialogue, non-diegetic and diegatic sounds. Elements in the film is a lot of action ( gun fights ). I like the film because i get to see a video game go into the film industry in my eyes for the first time. What i did not like about the film was that action scenes in the film seem to go over board when going from camera to camera..should of did way less of that.

Gerne Research Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

The Movie is a 2017 film called Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. It's an Action film. Camera angles and shots include 2 shot, over the shoulder, 3 shot, low angle, long shot, medium shot, medium close up and close up. Camera movements are pan and tracking shots. Costumes are animated but its just a cape and underwear really ( Captain Underpants ). Lighting is animated but the movie is very colorful so alot of bright  lights. Actors are Kevin Hart, Ed Helms, Thomas Middleditch and Jordan Peele. Props is nothing because it's animated. Setting is in a school in the movie's universe called Jeroome Horwitz Elementary School. Editing in Captain Underpants would be Action Match and a lot of cutaways. Sounds are dialogue, diegetic and ambient sounds. Elements in Captain Underpants are just a lot of jokes and childish things ( a lot of laughing and pranks). I like Captain Underpants because it was a film i used to read as a book. I dislike Captain Underpants because there's too many corny jokes and the plot is very confusing.

Genre Research Dealpool

The Movie is a 2016 film called Dealpool. It's a Sci-Fi/Action movie. It has Action it's genre so that's a reason why i chose it. Camera angles and shots that appear is medium shot, 2 shot, 3 shot, over-the-shoulder, long shot, close up, eye level and low angle. Camera movements are pans, flash pans, tilt and tracking shot. Costumes is Deadpool is really the real suit that the the main actor wears. Lighting in Deadpool is always Light, only dark in personal scenes. Actors are Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J Miller and Stan Lee. Props in Dealpool is really the guns that they use. Setting is Dealpool is at the Xmen's house, a highway, the X-Men's universe but would include no X-Men in from other films but two. Editing in Deadpool is simple, Graphic and Action match ( a lot of those happen ), Jump shot and Reverse shots. The Sounds that go with Deadpool is the ambient sounds, dialogue, non-diegetic and diegatic sounds and score that Dealpool ( Ryan Reynolds ) can hear and Foley Studio for gore effects. Elements in Dealpool is also simple, blood, fighting scene blood and more blood. I like the film Dealpool because it fits me, the action, guns, 4th wall breaks, and Ryan Reynolds being relatable. What i don't like about Deadpool is the score really, it's just old songs we heard too many times before.

Genre Research, Genre Chosen.

Out of the Three genre types (Drama, Sci-Fi and Action), I have chosen Action. Action Genres are probably my favorite type of genres of the 3. It's also one of the easier ones to do in my eyes. Making a Cyber hacking Action film is weird when you think of it. It's experimental for me and i'm up for the challenge. I did it for The Music Video and Nike Commercial. I'm trying to go 3 for 3 and make the best movie intro you'll ever see.

Genre Research with 2 MORE Genres.

Today is Jan 26th, 2020. The two other Genres i will be choosing is Action and Sci-Fi. In the Action genre, camera angles and shots that make an common appearance in action type films are Bird's eye view,  point of view, 2 shot, extreme close up and high angles. Camera movements that appear in action films are tracking, tilt and pans. Costumes in actions films are usually dressed up to fit the movie's theme ( such as Western action films are dressed like cowboys and cowgirls ). Lighting in action films usually has lighting that covers apart of the characters face  during intense moments in 1 v 1 scenes. Actors in actions films are some of Hollywood's best ( such as Jackie Chan, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger ). Make up, Props and Setting is based on what the action movie is about ( again going back to Western action films, looking like cowboys and cowgirls, .44 magnums, cowboy hats and boots, Swing doors when going into wooden bars). Setting depends on where the film is at ( back to the Western example, the middle of nowhere with snakes and a lot of dry land like a desert. Editing for the action film is really based on what's going on in the film like cross cutting to show a 2 people shot and ( such as the cutting out bloody scenes to keep an Rating for movies theater aka no NC-17 type movies ). Sounds goes with what the action film presents, like western action films will have a lot of dialogue in a crowd, with only 2 people, gun shots and bullets dropping. Elements in action films have physical stunts, chase scenes, fighting ( martial arts ) and destructive disasters ( always have explosions ). What I like about the Action Genre is the detail that can go into the film itself and the trill it has in scenes from time to time. What I dislike about the action genre is that sometimes you see the same thing over and over in films that have sequels ( like Kill Bill and the TON of blood that they have in every film in the series).

Sci-Fi camera angles and movements includes high angles, dutch shots, mediums shots, bird's eye view,  2 & 3 shots, extreme close up and low angles. Camera movements includes pans, flashing pan, tilt and tracking shot. Costumes in the Sci-Fi genre include super hero and futuristic outfits ( like Superman and Batman ). Lighting is a lot of bright colors and lights, it could be dark with bright theme to it as well. Actors are some of Hollywood's best like Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannson. Make up goes with the costumes that the actors wear so it's a tie in. Props and Setting go with the  Costumes like probably a cape for Superman ( i'll say ) and a city to would just either expand into more cities or go into more detail with just one home or place. Editing is Important to the Sci-Fi genre because it has to go with the scene such as into cross cutting, eye-line matching and graphic match. Sci-Fi sounds have ambient music and Foley studio sounds for suspense. Elements in the genre Sci-Fi is science based fiction, which goes out of the boarders of real life. What I like about Sci-Fi is the suspense scenes that can happen in the films. What I dislike about the Sci-Fi genre because it's too predictable, like very predictable ( aka hero always wins ).

Genre Research Revisit

Today is January 22nd, 2020. Back in October we had to randomly choose a genre from a basket. We didn't luck out and we had gotten "Drama". Me and my partner did a 7 slide PowerPoint on the genre. We had find the different camera angles, movements, films, music likes and dislike about it. I didn't like how we rushed so quickly on the PowerPoint. Yes we got the research down and in the PowerPoint but it did not reflect well in my grade book. A plain PowerPoint in my eyes. This PowerPoint is a base of what will be doing in the next couple of blogs so get ready to see the same thing over and over and over again.

Choosing the Pitch ( Film Intro ).

Today is January 17th, 2020. In my last blog i talked about the three different pitches I made to chose for my film. Basketball Murder, Home Invasion and Cyber-hacking. Out of those three, I really like the Home Invasion and Cyber-hacking. The Basketball murder one was just a sports related thought i had ( because i was going to the basketball court the next day ) but didn't want to make it like a commercial. I had to put a quick little twist to it than it just being some ordinary game of basketball. The Home Invasion and the Cyber-hacking would the best because of the ideas i can create out of that. It's way too many to think of instead of being limited to a basketball film. Not a lot of them really can top the box office because of the interest of the film. It's just too easy man!

The Home Invasion film will probably be my best work yet. I think that i can expand on I can or can't do. It's a simple idea that has have a ton of ways that it leave a hook. I would have to film this at home because it's really in the title. I can be more relaxed at home then going to some place and trying it. Problem is that i would need another person to help me film it. Filming an action scene ( spoiler!) would need at least 3 people and probably another camera in the mix.  It's going to be a complex look when a storyboard could be make for this. Hint that it has to be 2 minutes with no elements from another film so that's a challenge. But maybe there's a better option here.

Cyber-hacking could be better and could be worst. To me it seems like a good film because it would have computers in it. I love to work on computers so its already sounding good. It's something that is way better than the Basketball Murder pitch i had. The bad thing about is that i would need another person to film me. I wouldn't know what computer to film because i have tons at home. One has Windows XP and the others are Windows 10. Could I edit the screen where it looks like i'm hacking? Should I try and use two computers at the same time to hacking? Could this be the film of choice?

The film i'm going to do is the Cyber-hacking. It's a easy choice because of the cliff hangers I can give the audience. I could also give them some action as well. It's a mixture of talent and thought that can make this film an all time great or an bust. My other two videos had a lot of laughs but the videos where better than what some people would do. If you can't do better then don't talk. I'm doing this film by myself but other people not part of the class can do it as well. When this product is finished it going to be a must watch intro all of the time. It's just that easy for me. Look at what editing can do for me! I'm better than anyone at editing and that can be what a good or bad film needs.

Beginning of the End!

Hello my name is Alexis and I'm back! We had a month hiatus due to exams and winter break. I'm pretty sure I passed most of my exams so that's good. I'm doing good if you were to ask me in 2019. 2020 is so far a bad ride. I'm already lacking in one class that shouldn't even exist. That one of my classes ( English ) is in the hands of the wrong teacher and it's killing me. Busy work should of been her middle name because it's all we're getting in class. It's stressing me out and that's how I start my day out. Stressing over one class at the start of anyone's day is always a mood change. So basically I'm not doing good with all these things stressing me out.

I learned that there was more software to use on my own computer to help more with editing. The more software I have on my computer, the more i can learn. The talent's that came with me and editing is the ability to make BETTER videos than everyone else in my class. I'm the only one that uses my computer in the class so the advantage I have is already unfair. A sub-software called Red Giant comes into place while I'm editing in Sony Vegas. It can add effects such as fire, blood and water to make my videos ( in this case an upcoming movie intro ) better. Executing those effect in the video would be legendary! That could even get me a job in the future but I won't getting ahead of myself right now.  It's way too good to be filming another video because i'm way too excited!

A pitch is an very brief summary of a film in about 25 words in about 2 sentences ( could be 23-25 words but never more than 25 words or more than 2 sentences ). For me a pitch for a film would be probably the hardest thing to do. A lot of ideas that come from me would be way more than a pitch. Making one pitch is hard but adding two more to make it a total of three pitches are possible( for now)! My first pitch is about a Basketball Murder story. "Two NBA superstars square off to see who the best point guard in NBA but after one loss, he comes a killer for hire" (24 words). My second pitch is an Home Invasion. "A rich man could be rich and still act broke but after a robbery of his home happened his life changed for the better" (24 words). My third pitch is about Cyber-hacking. "A teenager is too smart for his school and the internet is his best friend but sometimes he abuses his friend to get his way" ( 25 words).

Dying of Boredom, Editing Blog

Today is Thursday April 2nd, 2020. Today is just an off day. I woke up at 9. Left the house at 9:40. Took my skateboard with me and skat...
